Ordinance No. 2025-4
An Ordinance Imposing A Temporary Moratorium on the Acceptance of Applications For Conditional Use For Residential Short-Term Rentals
Adopted May 29, 2025
Ordinance 2025-4 for Boulder Town, Utah, establishes a six-month moratorium on accepting new applications for Conditional Use Permits (CUP) for Residential Short-Term Rentals (RSTRs). This moratorium is intended to give the Town time to revise its RSTR regulations and zoning code, address community concerns, and prevent inconsistent development.
It is important to note that the moratorium does not apply to completed RSTR CUP applications submitted and accepted before the ordinance’s effective date, May 29, 2025. All members of the Town Council voted in favor of the ordinance.
A digital copy of the ordinance is available in the “Documents” section on the Boulder Town website, specifically under “Ordinances.” Until the codification process is finalized, the digital copy will be linked at the bottom of the page. A physical copy of the ordinance and the Certificate of Ordinance Passage are at the Boulder Town Office.
