2025 Municipal Primary Election

PRIMARY ELECTION INFORMATION
Ballots will be mailed out to all eligible voters beginning July 22, 2025. To be eligible, voters must be of legal voting age, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the voting precinct in which they are registered. If you have registered by the specified deadlines, your ballot will be mailed to the address you provided.
Voters can check their registration status, view specific sample ballots, and learn about candidates online at www.vote.utah.gov or call the County Clerk’s Office at (435) 676-1100.
If voting by mail, please ensure your ballot has POSTAGE. Please note that there has been a change in state law regarding ballot deadlines this year, and therefore, postmarks no longer count. TO BE VALID, A BALLOT MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE GARFIELD COUNTY CLERK’S OFFICE ON OR BEFORE 8:00 P.M. ON ELECTION DAY.
Individuals with disabilities who are unable to vote using a manual ballot by mail can obtain information on accessible voting methods by contacting the County Clerk at (435) 676-1120.
Ballots will be processed for signature verification, opening ballots, scanning ballots, adjudicating ballots, replicating damaged or defective ballots, and tabulating votes from Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., excluding holidays, at the Garfield County Clerk’s Office.

Aug 1 Last day to register to vote by 5:00 p.m.
Jul 29-Aug 11 Early voting; County Courthouse & Dropbox Locations
Aug 5 Last day to request an absentee ballot

Aug 12 Ballot MUST be received by the election officer by 8:00 p.m.
Aug 12 Unofficial Election results will be posted after 9:00 p.m.
Aug 19 Post-Election audit at 1:30 p.m. at County Courthouse

Garfield County Courthouse, Tuesday, August 12, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and at the dropboxes at Garfield County Courthouse, Escalante City Office, and Tropic Town Office until 8:00 p.m.
