BUSINESS LICENSE EXTENSION
The Boulder Town Council adopted Resolution No. 2026-03 to extend all current, valid business licenses temporarily. This extension provides time to thoroughly review and properly implement the new business operating license process, including a transition to a fully online application and fee payment system that complies with all applicable laws and best practices.
License Extension Details
All current valid Boulder Town business licenses with an original expiration date of December 31, 2025, have been temporarily extended for twelve (12) months.
- Original Expiration Date: December 31, 2025
- Extended Expiration Date: December 31, 2026
Valid license holders will receive an updated business license and an overview of the revision process with this notice.
Important Action Required for Non-Receipt
Any business owner with a current, valid license expiring on December 31, 2025, who does not receive an extended business license should contact the Town Office immediately so that an extended business license can be issued no later than February 28, 2026.
Overview of the Business License Process Review and Timeline
The administrative department, including elected officials and staff, has a goal to update the application and ordinance to incorporate best practices, ensure full legal compliance, and transition to a fully online system for applications and fee payments.
The Town Council anticipates the following projected timeline for Council action and the subsequent renewal period. You are encouraged to follow the process and provide input at a designated public meeting or in writing.
- Winter/Spring Regular Meeting: Proposed revisions to the application and ordinance will be presented for public input and council discussion.
- Subsequent Regular Meeting: Approval and adoption of the revised application and ordinance.
- Following the Updates: The revised business application period opens upon Town Council approval.
